the hummingbirds, or, an object lesson on depth of field
Eventually, I will put some content here that talks about hummingbirds as creatures, and try to classify exactly what kind of hummingbird these are. For now, however, let it suffice to say this: These are really friggin' hard to shoot properly, and that goes double when you've deliberately set a shallow depth of field. Did I mention they're fast? They're fast.

I'm still playing around with the cropping and experimenting to see what the best way to present these are. Comments are welcome.

Technical notes: These were all taken with an EOS 10D and an EF 100/2.0, in aperture priority mode; with the exception of the first two (f/4.5), I was playing around at f/2.
