Wesley: Who are you? Are we enemies? Why am I on this wall? Where’s Buttercup?
Inigo: Let me ‘splain. … No, there is too much. Let me sum up.
This is my Weblog. There are many like it, but this one is mine. I’m Mike. I travel, I write, I cook, I take pictures, and I fly. (Also, I’m pretty good at raising the dead.) This is my blog.
Once upon a time there was a blog called Under a Blackened Sky. Around the fall and winter of 2004 I got kind of tired of the thing, couldn’t even stand to look at it, really. So I shelved it. Blogs were getting stale. Everyone and their dog had one. They were going to change the world, or so the blogpundits said.
It’s fiveseven years later. I’m fiveseven years older. There have been a whole bunch of adventures between then and now. Blogs are still supposed to change the world, but the idea that we shouldn’t take them so friggin’ seriously is starting to take root. Naturally, it’s time for me to start taking the blog as a medium seriously again. (It’s not the Internet if you’re not screwing around regularly.)
You can find me on Twitter, and my pictures on SmugMug. We endorse both of these services, SmugMug perhaps more than Twitter. I’m also on G+, but I have no idea how to link to that profile, so if you want to find me there, send e-mail.
…
Oh. You want to know what this blog is about? New to the Internet, are you? Why don’t you just read the thing and find out, huh? Smart guy? Yeah. You know what you need to do.
